Don’t Get in a Rut

2. Don't Get in a Rut-1Hello, I’m Kevin Wright, the UHPA president for 2012. I’ve been a member of the association for 14 years and a representative for about 8 years.

THE UHPA HAS HELPED INCREASE OUR WAGES, BENefits, and equipment; it also helps its members and their families in times of need. We will continue to do so by working with our legislators and administration. By working together we can accomplish great things.

We appreciate all the help we’ve received with the Fallen Trooper Memorial Markers. They should all be in place soon with spotlights and flags and we hope the improvements will help console the families and remind everyone of their sacrifices.

With the passing of Trooper Beesley, my thoughts have repeatedly returned to what is important in life. Our jobs in public safety are very important, but sometimes we become so focused on them that we forget to keep our lives in balance. I encourage all UHPA members to take a look at their routines. Don’t get in a rut. Reevaluate your work behaviors to maintain safeness. Focus on the decisions you make every time you make a stop so that you can return home safely every night.

If you have questions, concerns, or comments, call the association phone. I’ll be happy to address your needs and the needs of our members.
